HIGH RIPPLE CURRENT
High ripple current at 100Hz/300Hz
As a long-established part of HITACHI CHEMICAL, we have an in-depth knowledge of the chemical processes that are particularly important for high-end capacitors. This has been our strength for over 70 years.
Thanks to our key technologies for the in-house production of our special electrolytes and highly roughened anode foils, the ZR and ZR2 snap-in series are for now leading the market in the category.
‘highest ripple current worldwide’
The same applies to our VGLR screw terminal series.
Frequencies >10kHz
Our market-leading aluminium series offer similarly high currents as PP foils with the advantage of significantly higher capacitance.
High temperatures
Even at ambient temperatures (70°C -105°C), there is still enough latitude to handle additional and high-current-related self-heating (∆T) without compromise thanks to our technological leadership and the finely tuned materials.
Permanent load >10 arms with only one snap-in? No problem.

Low ESR
Formally known as HITACHI AIC, we are the manufacturer of aluminium electrolytic capacitors, which probably offer the lowest ESR in the market.
In order to achieve low ESR values, we optimise and control the aluminium oxide layer thickness of our anode foils in combination with special papers and specially developed electrolytes, without compromising on short-circuit withstand capability.
With our customised film cap modules, the ESR and ESL values can be minimised thanks to the flexible arrangement of the windings in combination with our BusBar systems.

Compact size
The competition for the best results for etching aluminium foil has a long tradition among Japanese manufacturers. We are leading this competition.
W-Series
HITACHI AIC has invented the double anode technology for aluminium electrolytic capacitors and developed it to series maturity. Our HCGW# series offer the highest capacitance values on the market for all voltage ranges in a single can and are the best choice for large energy buffers.
Our FXW series combine this feature with double the lifetime.
Compact. More compact. HU
Our single-anode series also benefit from our advanced in-house film manufacturing - a legacy of HITACHI Chemical. Over the last 10 years, our low-cost all-round HU series has become the world's most compact snap-in capacitor

Long Life
Typically Japanese.
In order to fulfil requirements of 20 years and more lifetime in the DC-Link sector, a high degree of reliability is required at all levels. This is where the heritage of our parent company HITACHI CHEMICAL bears fruit. With the best value of <0.5 FIT for the field failure rate, our capacitors are in a class of their own.
Higher overvoltage withstanding
The above-average forming voltage level of our aluminium anode foils and the design policies of our metallised and segmented PP films make them particularly resistant to voltage peaks.
High forming voltage
The stability and strength of our oxide layer is particularly important for use over several decades. Even laboratory tests with 5 to 8 year old stock leftovers generally show no need for reforming.
Segmented PP films
This form of metallisation with several 10,000 individual segments enables progressive deactivation of the damaged areas with moderate and constant overloads and thus prevents film capacitors from ending up in fatal short-circuit mode.
Resistant to moisture
Coordinated resins and housing materials ensure that our box-type film capacitors have a long service life in harsh environments. In the THB test at 85°C and 85% relative humidity (RH), our ‘T’ products pass the 1,500-hour mark.
The choice is yours
If the capacitance/current ratio allows, we can design your bank with both technologies - film and aluminium - and with a comparable long service life.
